What Did I Loose In The Fire…

Today it is with great joy I introduce to you Carolynn Anderson. I met Carolynn through one of my small groups. We’ve been friends for about four years. Carolynn helps with Remade Ministries, and this spring she will be one of the Remade girls leading our women’s Bible study Stronghold to STRONGHOLD! She is a blessing in my life and the lives of so many others. So, without further delay… 

What did I loose in the fire? I am not talking about a fire that burns to destroy everything in its path…. On no, I’m talking about a fire that burns in your heart, and fills you with the Holy Spirit!

John answered them all, saying, “I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Luke 3:16

Recently I set out on a quest to know more about this amazing savior we, believers, know as Jesus Christ. Who is He really? What does He think of me? Are just some of the questions I wanted answers to. I wanted to trust in Jesus with all my heart, yet how could I trust in someone that I didn’t know personally?

Trust is the foundation of our faith… we have to trust in what we do not see. I knew that I would have to build a relationship with Him. I started by asking myself how I built relationships with people? I took the time to get to know them, and see their true character. I began that with Jesus, and what I learned about Him changed my life…

MY DESIRE GREW…

As I began to spend more time with Jesus, I discovered the more I desired to know Him intimately. As I surrendered my heart to Him, a fire began to burn in my spirit. It was in this amazing fire that caused me to loose many things…

THE FIRE CONSUMED…

In this fire I lost my shame that I had carried for many years. He reminded me everyday what I was of value to Him. He showed me favor by His grace and faithfulness.

I lost the brokenness… He met me right where I was with all of my imperfections, and made me whole again. He filled a void in my heart that for so long I had tried to fill with the things of this world.

I lost my unworthiness… He found my brokenness useful, and  used my testimony to minister to the broken and restore their faith in Him. It’s through our restored lives He is made real to the world that does not know him, and chooses to reject Him.

Most importantly, I lost myself. He brought amazing people into my life, and made me a part of something bigger than myself… Remade Ministries

He makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire. Psalm 104:4

I encourage you to take the time to get to know Jesus more intimately. Ask him to start a fire in your spirit, one that burns to desire him more…. You might be amazed at what you could lose, too.

I am a single mother of three amazing and beautiful children, Elijah 11, Kylie 6, and Noah 5. I spend my days juggling work, kids, and all things unexpected. I am a Training Program Coordinator, and I love my job and love being a mother!
