Better than I had anticipated… That’s exactly what I felt when 8 women showed up at my house for a never-been-done focus group dinner party! I sensed the Lord prompting me to step out and host this dinner, but before I did I imagine 100 reasons why I shouldn’t do it.

  • No one will come.
  • What do I say?
  • Who am I to do this?
  • This is just dumb.

…and the list went on and on. Finally, I just shut my brain up and sent out the e-vite before I could add one more reason not to.

In Chapter 12, our final chapter, of Alone In Marriage by Susie Larson, she talks about faith, hope, and love. About faith she said

…”When we take our imperfect selves and resources and move out to a place of childlike faith and expectation, God can barely contain Himself. He has to move. Faith means everything to God. He isn’t put off by our fumbling efforts; He is completely captivated by our belief!” [p.200 Alone In Marriage]

That is exactly what happened. I invited about 16 women and half showed. I ordered a meal and we went straight to work. I can honestly say it was one of the most exhilarating three hours I had spent with a group of women in a very long time!

  • We dreamed
  • We strategized
  • We connected
  • We encouraged
  • We believed

How exciting is it to hear the whisper of the Lord? How nerve racking is it to step out in spite of fear? But how incredibly mind-blowing is it to watch God take what little you have, and turn it into one of the most amazing moments you’ve ever been a part of!?

Yep that’s our God! He challenges us to move past our fear and live in the impossible. He wants us to live in a place of faith and hope for what is unseen until it becomes seen!

Are you only dreaming for what you can imagine is possible? Or have you allowed yourself to dream in the realm of impossibilities? Because that is where our God specializes!

For nothing is impossible with God Luke 1:37

How do we live in the realm of impossible faith-filled dreams? We recognize three things:

  1. Recognize Fear Is A Natural Response: Initial fear is ok, but quickly move past it. God has not given us a spirit of Fear!
  2. Recognize God Loves Impossibilities: God wants to keep us in places that are beyond our abilities, so He can show off all of His abilities!
  3. Recognize When God Speaks It’s Already Done: When God is impressing you to step out it’s an automatic win because God never fails!

God’s desire isn’t to set us up for failure, it’s to set us up for Kingdom success! Whatever He’s asking you to do, he will equip you every step of the way. However, being equipped doesn’t mean you’re free from the struggles, stresses, and setbacks of walking a faith-filled journey! No, that’s just part of the package, and that topic is better saved for a different blog post!

NOW YOUR TURN: What are you dreaming for? Do you have things you want God to do but they seem impossible so you won’t ask? How are you working to move from the possible realm to the realm of impossible faith?
