Today I was in the  middle of writing a blog, when a very sweet friend of mine came over unexpectedly, and we spent an hour and half talking about God instead of me writing about Him.

I then wandered over to a blogging friend, Ameena Falchetto, who had such an encouraging post that I had to share it with you!

She so poignantly described how we long to do things, but find fear rearing it’s ugly head inside that keeps us from moving forward!  Her resolve –  she would sing the song Eye of the Tiger. I encourage you to take a moment, and read her blog post Eye of the Tiger. The song alone will inspire you, and the cheesy video will crack you up!

I never thought of this song in a spiritual way… but just read these lyrics, and tell me you don’t want to regroup, refocus, and do a little spiritual warfare!

Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive…

Risin’ up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night…

I’m ready to pick up my gloves and punch something!

My rival… insecurity and fear! My fear challenges me, it comes in and sucks out my passion, and can cause me to cower to it’s false reality! My insecurities are like heat-seeking missiles that launch at me each and every time I begin to step out into something new! If I am not careful, they will be allowed to rule my life; however, when I set my sights on Christ, I become like the fighter in the song, and find the will punch something! 🙂

Let’s Chat: You tell me, what is it inside of you that causes you to put on the gloves and fight past those fears? Are you like Ameena and have a song? Do you have a life verse that refocuses you, or a quote that pushes you farther than you’ve thought you could go? Do share… you might encourage someone else!
