He gave IT ALL.

He surrendered His will, SO THAT we could freely choose to live for Him.

He overcame the impossible, SO THAT we could live the impossible life!

He hung on the cross in defeat, SO THAT that we can stand in VICTORY!

But…

So often we choose to live for ourselves.

So often we choose to not to believe the impossible.

So often we choose to slouch in defeat.

Today we remember His greatest challenge. He knew the depth of suffering, and He chose to walk it anyway. The Bible says,

He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. Luke 22:44

The use of that particular word agony, is only used once in the Bible. It means to have great fear, terror of death, and anxiety. To use it only once tells me that no one, in all of scripture, ever felt the depth of agony that Jesus felt that day for our sake.

It saddens me that as believers we walk in bondage, when He became bound for our freedom.

It saddens me that as believers we live in shame, when He took on shame so we might live shameless.

It saddens me that as believers we live broken, when He willing broke for our restoration!

What will it take for us to walk in the breakthrough that was destined for us thousands and thousands of years ago? What will it take to stand in the victory which came three days after His death? What will it take to overcome our own graves like He overcame his?

SACRIFICE!

To come to a place where we look up at our father, understanding the cost, but still say…

Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine. Luke 22:42

We must come to a place where we say I want your will over my will no matter the cost!

Let’s take a challenge today, and ask the Lord to reveal an area in our lives where we struggle to lay it down. Let that area be an offering of praise to Him. Let’s offer a sacrifice today as He did for us so long ago.

What is your sacrifice? Maybe it’s your pride. Maybe it’s your children. Maybe it’s your marriage. Maybe it’s relationships. Maybe it’s an addiction. Or maybe it’s belief. Whatever your struggle, call out to the Father, even in your FEAR, and sacrifice your will for His!

There cannot be a better day to surrender to the One who so long ago surrendered for you!

Like Christ, your victory will come, but it will come after the sacrifice!

Like Christ, YOU WILL RISE in victory, but you will rise after the death of the sacrifice!

Bill Johnson said “Fire falls on sacrifice.” Today surrender to your Savior, and offer up to Him your sacrifice so that you can burn for Him and Him alone!

{NOW YOUR TURN} What will your offering be to Him? Continue the conversation in the comments below. We want to pray and talk with you!

Happy Resurrection Day,
