It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. Heb. 11:8

At the break of dawn, in early spring and winter, I hear the honking of the Canadian geese as they pass over our home. I love the sound of them. It reminds me that something is coming, that the season I am in is changing, and it’s giving life to something new.

I wonder, who tells the geese it’s time to fly? Who guides them on the same path from north to south and back? I wonder if any resist when it’s time to leave? Does one ever turn it’s back on the flock and refuse to go? Or do they just know when it’s time to fly? Do they know change is what’s best for them? Do they embrace what is to come and enjoy their journey?

God brings seasons of change in our lives all the time. I don’t want to miss when that season comes. I don’t want to resist when it’s time to fly. I never want to refuse to go. I want to be able to sense the change, embrace the journey, and take flight!

I think those geese spend a lot of time together, so when one senses it’s time to go, I bet they trust the other and simply launch!

I want to be that way with the Father, the Son, and the Holy spirit. I want to spend enough time with them, so when the change comes I trust them and simply launch!

I encourage you, don’t resist change – embrace the journey and launch into your new season of life! When God is directing the winds of change, the journey may be long, but the destination is always sweet!
