I personally am LOVING the spring trends this year! The biggest trend in beauty is a “no makeup” look with a lived in berry lip. While I love a full face of glam from time to time, lately I am all about natural beauty. Here’s a step-by-step to your perfect “no makeup” look followed by my finished look!
For the Look!
1. I applied my favorite foundation to even out my skin tone.
2. I applied concealer on any blemishes or scars, as well as under my eyes.
3. Using very small flicks of a brow pencil I filled in any gaps in my eyebrows. I made sure to have a light hand to ensure a more natural, less “bold” brow.
4. I applied the faintest bit of blush to my cheeks.
5. Above my blush I applied just a hint of highlight to give myself a youthful glow.
6. To add just a little bit of glamour, I packed on my mascara. First I curled my lashes, then I applied several coats of my favorite brown mascara for a little drama.
7. Lastly I applied a berry shade of lip stain and rubbed in with my finger to give it the “lived in” look!
Voila!
Okay, you’re probably wondering what the heck is a “lived in berry lip??” Well, it’s lovely because it’s your favorite shade of pink or red lipstick shade, smudged on your lips, as if you’ve worn it all day. (Which for some of us who do live in our lipsticks or gloss and don’t always remember to touch up, this is kind of perfect!) The idea with the lip is imagine you have eaten a popsicle, and it’s stained your lips. (Random, but I don’t make these things up, I just follow along and report them! ;] ) The easiest way to achieve the look is to apply your lipstick/lip stain/ lip gloss and smudge with your fingers. Have most of your color be on the inside of your lips and then rub the color outwards with your finger! Easy peasy!
Now onto fashion!
Again, I’m loving the spring trends in fashion because it’s all about comfort and ease. A huge trend is incorporating sportswear into your daily style. All the hottest bloggers and fashion whosie-whosie’s have basically replaced their heels for sneakers, and it’s considered high fashion! Another trend which should be no shocker considering the season is “garden party”. Lovely laces and pastel shades are all the rage and I quite enjoy it! For my look below I combined both styles by pairing a lace dress with sneakers. I feel like I could fit right in a variety of occasions, and be comfortable yet feel romantic and cool!
